Title: unknown Iris
Post by: wooden shoe on May 20, 2011, 07:09:02 PM
I have grown this iris from seed and at it's second year it's flowering. The one who gave me the seed said it likes moisty soil so that's where I located it. It is about 50 cm tall. Unfortunately I don't have any more information about it. Can anyone identify this Iris?
Thank you!  Rob

It could be a form or hybrid from the sibirica group. That would like moisture, though they also enjoy sun.

Thank you Lesley,
I came across an Iris siberica cultivar with the peculiar name 'Butter and Sugar'. That might be the one. http://www.eurobulb.nl/index.php/details/1964/Summer+flowering+bulbs/Iris/Iris+sibirica/Iris+Butter+and+Sugar.htm (http://www.eurobulb.nl/index.php/details/1964/Summer+flowering+bulbs/Iris/Iris+sibirica/Iris+Butter+and+Sugar.htm)
