Title: Yet another earthquake - in Spain
Post by: Lesley Cox on May 12, 2011, 10:40:53 PM
It seems almost daily there is another earthquake somewhere. While our own minds are hearts are still firmly with our Christchurch friends and we do what we can to help, Japan too needs such great help and now, Spain as well. This one is on a scale that seems it can be coped with by the international community (Lorca is a little smaller than Dunedin) so I hope we can assist out Spanish friends and their families. Whether Forumists were affected I have no idea, but a whole country is damaged in some way, when a major town or city is so devastated. I send my thoughts and best hopes to Rafa and the others who post here and give us so much pleasure with their pictures

Lesley is sadly so right..... it seems that there is always some terrible news from some corner of the world about horrible disasters, whether natural or man made.

For the man made horrors we would hope we could learn from our mistakes but for these natural catastrophes there is so little we can do but hope for decent help for the victims and a safer future for the survivors.
