At todays AGS Ulster Group show I saw a Ranunculus I would like to add to the collection. It was R. illyricus and it was lust at first sight.
There were also a stunning R. parnassifolius shown by Bob Gordon with maybe 100 flowers on only a few stems. It is different compared to mine by its massive size and slightly hairy leaves. Mine finished weeks ago

Where are the photos Mark? ???
-
welllllll ::) :o
-
Mmmmmmmm? You forgot your camera, didn't you?
-
You are correct. Although I only live about two miles away I didnt go home for the camera. R. illyricus looks like someone has painted each petal with varnish. The leaves below are very long and narrow. I'm hoping a forum member has a spare plant. ;D
Just realised I posted this in bulbs wanted
-
I've moved it!
-
Is this it Mark?
In which case it is your lucky day and I can send some when it goes dormant (it has tubers like R millefoliatus and is likewise summer dormant so 'bulbs wanted' was not entirely the wrong place for it). Does well both in the garden and in the bulb frame here.

That's it. Thanks.
Did your R. psilostachys flower? Mine are looking good right now

The plants look happy Mark but I don't think they are going to flower this season.
