Title: Calceolaria
Post by: ruweiss on May 01, 2011, 09:18:12 PM
This strange looking Calceolaria darwinii is from wild seed and I wonder if it is an extreme colour form
or a hybrid.
C. fothergilli collects with its sticky surface all the pollen which is the air, due the unusual dry weather
we have.

I am not able to comment on the possibility of hybrid blood, Rudi, but I can admire your very healthy plant. It will be interesting to hear an opinion from some of the experienced South American travellers  about  it.

The foliage looks pretty true to darwinii (uniflora). Whatever, it is very nice indeed. :)
