May I invite forumists to spare a thought tomorrow for our very good friend Ranunculus who, rather than enjoy a pub lunch with us at Knowle, will undergo 'a procedure' at his local hospital. :'(
I know he is worried and feel it will help him if his pals in the forum express their best wishes for a successful outcome.
All the best Cliff - from all the family.

Well said, Johnny, I am sure that all of us will be holding dear old Buttercup Bookeroo in our thoughts. Always a scary thing to be in the hands of the Docs, but I'm sure all will be well and he will be back buttercupping with unseemly haste and vigour before we've had a chance to worry about him. Hearty forum good wishes and the biggest of virtual hugs to dear Cliff.... hope all goes well and that you are soon fighting fit once again.

For you, Cliff......

Who knew they could do brain transplants as a day case? :o

Very best wishes from Susan & I too, Cliff!

Cliff,
Lesley and I send you our best wishes and hope for your speedy return to the forum
-
Definitely hope everything goes as smoothly and as successfully as possible. Crongers fissed for him.

By 'eck, it's been a busy afternoon... had to answer 747 emails from Folk saying they are more than happy to spare a thought for the Bookeroo, but only if they don't have to chip in to buy him any grapes..... have contacted all saying I'm confident Sue will buy him plenty grapes and so they are all happily sparing happy healthy thoughts for Cliff............ ;) :-* :-* :-*

My thoughts are with you Cliff.

Keep strong Cliff and get well soon.
We need your humour on the Forum ! ;)

Hope all goes well, Cliff. On return home you will have every excuse to take life easy for a while, read that stack of books that has built up, surf the net, pass comment on SRGC forums etc. Looking forward to hearing from you next week.
Best wishes, Paddy

all the best for tomorrow!
I dread the day it might be me because needles scare me
-
Best wishes Cliff. We will drink to your health in the pub
-
Please, please, please ... enough, but many, many thanks to you all!
It's only a simple cataract operation, but I dread the thought of someone (no matter how competent) slicing into my eye!!! ;D
I am at the conference from Thursday but may have to imitate a pirate with a patch over my eye and a parrot on my shoulder. LOL.
-
Thought of an eye op is frightening.... If I were you I wouldn't look, Cliff..... :-X
Somewhere I've got a parrot I made for a fancy dress event years ago.... we had a "boat" on wheels for a charity boat race..... had to have a ship's parrot.....I'll see if I can find it........ ::)

Best wishes from me too Cliff. Nothing to be scared about, this takes normally just less than an hour.
Maybe you'll have a nice doctor ;D Oh hell, you won't see her ;)

If mine is anything to go by you'll be conscious the whole time. A very interesting experience. Hope it goes well.

Yes, Best wishes Cliff. I had it done in September and never looked back - sorry about that. It isn't as bad as you think it will be, only takes 20 minutes. A nurse will hold your hand throughout the procedure and before you can say "I've had enough of this", it's all over and yo have to let go of the friendly hand. - I am looking forward to having my other one done, the outcome is really worth it.
All the best and chat soon. :) :-* :)
-
All the best Cliff. "Eye op" as they say in Lancashire. If you are conscious during the op you can tell us about it. Cascade the step by step details, perhaps?

For your pupils, Anthony? ::) ;D
Many thanks to you all for your good wishes folks. What are you going to be like if i ever get something seriously wrong? LOL.
Just fumbling for the dog, the white stick, the braille cards and the car keys ( ???) and then I'm on my way.

;D ;D ;D

Best of luck, Cliff.

I hope everything has gone extra well Cliff. My own experience is that with any "procedure" I've had so far, the thoughts beforehand are always worse than the event itself. Though no-one's messed about with my eyes yet. But friends who have had cataracts removed have said it was miraculous, the change from blurriness and half sight, back to clarity. Shame to have missed a pub lunch though. :)

See this post in the Show pages about Cliff's rather worrysome day at the hospital... but he's home now and well enough to post on the forum so thank goodness for that!

The report is not for the squeamish! There is something about eye ops that give me the screaming abb-dabs.
Wishing you a speedy recovery Cliff.
