Title: Puschkinia 2011
Post by: mark smyth on March 16, 2011, 08:50:24 PM
not Scillas but I would like comments on a couple of Pushkinias in my garden. They are seeding nicely and I have two really good plants that appeared last year. The flowers are much larger, more of them and flower much earlier. They are at their best right now while the others are just showing buds. I've added a normal blue from last year just for comparisson

Are they worth chipping?

Are they worth chipping?

I agree Mark, they are nice little plants. I would have thought it wasn't worth the effort of chipping them as they can be so chesap to buy. For example I got mine from a local garden centre a couple of years ago where, because they had finished flowering, they had been chucked on the sale table at two pots for 50p.

Thank you I think it is nice but as you will see it has not been prolific in its increase in eighteen years

You've missed what I'm asking. I have 100s in the garden but I now have two that are larger, with larger flowers that flower earlier

Roland

Roland it is a Puschkinia - P. libonata

I think it's too misleading what I have done. Maybe Maggi will move it.

They look good - I guess they would only need green inners to make them perfect! ;D
cheers
