Hi Tony,

Yes, everything is always kept a few degrees above freezing due to a previous bad experience...

Tony, not everyone. We have a mutual friend whom I visited last week, with a goot pot full in an outside frame

There are many flowers in my Tecophilea cyanocrocus. But I can't get Tecophilea viridiflora to flower. It will increase every year but no flowers. Can someone help me?

Tecophilaea violiflora usually only has the one leaf, while the floral stem has a few little flowers ..... you potful all look to have two leaves.... I wonder if something has gone wrong to cause the bulbs to make more foliage at the expense of flowers?

Marvellous plants Alex and Kirsten!
I agree with Maggi, leaves look something strange for this species - here a picture I took last weekend of Tecophilaea violiflora, apologies for the bad quality.

My Tecophilaea have just poked their noses above the soil in the last week, seedlings have also appeared in the last couple of days. I thought I head lost the lot.

Kirsten, T. violiflora comes from a warmer region than cyanocrocus. T. violiflora can be grown well like one would a Cape bulb.

Good grief white Tecophileas! I had no idea, even some kissed blue.  How did I manage to miss those?

You are right it has two leaves. I got it from Gothenburg Botanical Garden, I will ask them if they have an explanation next time I see them.

Well I was thinking green, but that's probably even more unlikely. :-\
