Remember I moved my Pulsatilla pratensis bohemica from my crevice bed and broke all the roots? Back in May the removed plant was about to flower before a camera man ruined the flowers. The root cuttings are now small plants

Congratulations!! What sort of method did you use for striking the root cuttings? This is something I've been wanting to try myself but haven't been game to do as I don't have many Pulsatilla so am paranoid about killing the parent plant. I have a lovely double purple vulgaris I found as a chance plant amongst singles in a local nursery (the Pulsatilla themselves were surprising enough to find, let alone a double one amongst them).
So have any roots you left in the crevice reshot as well?

I did nothing other than follow ?Lesley's advice to put the roots vertical in sharp sand. In the crevice bed they have done much better. There is now a forest of leaves but I still dont want it there

And if you'd deliberately decapitated it in the crevice bed, just to try to propogate it then not a single one would have shot. Because you DON'T want it there every root has grown like crazy!! ;D
You just need to lift them all out of the crevice bed now and start farming them out to friends etc. And then next year you can do the same to the roots that remain from THAT transplant, and then the following year...... 8)

How do I get these out? If I cut them again with growth buds on top will the root again?

As Paul suggests, you probably WILL get a new crop of rooted cuttings if you don't get out the whole plant or at least cut it far enough down to miss the roots at their fleshy part. If you really have plenty and don't want any more, you could always wipe the current foliage with some Roundup, being careful. of course, not to touch other, wanted plants.

Reminds me of a Papaver orientale that i moved three times but it still remained in the same place ;D

Well it isn't TOO bad then.... you're only considering a small one. When they get really bad nuclear warfare starts to look like a good idea!! ;D

Me, it's the darn blackbirds, but only at certain times of year...... mainly when I find rare bulbs with their little roots drying in the air, after the blackbirds have been investigating. They can just do SO much damage, and their song is lovely but isn't worth THAT much!! :o
