Title: Papaver dubium strange in my culture (colour flower no normal)

Papaver dubium strange in my culture. This Papaver dubium has appeared on one of my pots of Sempervivum. Other plants of P. dubium in another places, have the normal flower color, but this is very different. Is it normal? Mutants appearing spontaneously?

It's a beauty regardless of what happened. I imagine like most flowers there is a range of color forms.

Thank you Carlo. Yes is beautiful and I no understand how this form appears spontaneusly.

Wasn't it Papaver somniferum ? -often found escaped.

No, I know Papaver somniferum and see the pics of the size flower and my finger...is very small flower. And see the pic of the fruit. Is Papaver dubium without doubt.

Of course - that isn't the big fat capsule of somniferum.
Sorry - I was influenced by the colour of the petals too much!

Yesthe flower of my pics are very similar to Papaver somniferum. Papaver somniferum has glaucous leaves and the plant is very high. My plant is totally Papaver dubium. I've been very lucky to have it spontaneously. Now keep all the seeds to grow a lot. I only known cultivars of Papaver rhoeas. I am very happy.
I could name this specimen as salmon fire, ha, ha, ha!

Emilio, I think it is the normal variability in this species, I also saw it in the nature. Some people mentioned it could be possible an hybrid with P. somniferum, but appart the colour as Gerd notice, there aren't any other intermediate character.
