Title: New Zealand Myosotis

Sadly it has suffered very badly this winter, which is why I needed the name, to see if I can re-acquire it, if it really has gone. I do find it self seeds around in the Alpine house so there may be babies popping up before long. Fingers crossed.

Post by: David Lyttle on March 17, 2011, 10:01:56 AM: It is Myosotis rakiura; very easy to grow but tends to be short lived in cultivation as are most NZ Myosotis species. It seeds freely and germinates well so it is best to collect the seed and plant it if you wish to keep it. It comes from the southern part of the South Island of New Zealand. It is naturally a plant of coastal cliff and ledges so will not tolerate frost at all.
