I have bought a few seeds from Kristi. But since she is in a middle of madness of distributing seeds around the Globe.
I have a question.
Somewhere, in a PUZZLE thread (2009) someone posted a link for Sarum henrii germination .... but it is 99 pages to go through, and my eyes are already bleeding.
Folks, could you share experience?

Geez! Yeah! That what insomnia can do to brain cells. Thanks John! I meant to type Saruma but perhaps was thinking of Asarum ::)

Hello Marina.....
How funny to live an hour apart and end up talking here.....the Saruma seed is on it's way (which will include specific germination instructions).
Saruma is a very straight-forward, simple one-phase cold germinator---and if you are still able to provide about 6 weeks cold, that might be enough--although you may have to get creative if we get another early, warm spring in Nova Scotia and you were planning to provide the cold outdoors (or garage, outbuilding, cold frame, etc. etc).
It is also a fast, steady grower from seed, extremely tolerant of poor, dry shade conditions at worst, thriving if conditions are better. I had colonies of it back in very cold Ontario, able to survive under huge hundred-year old sugar maples that sucked the life out of most other plants growing beneath them; but the Saruma just faithfully marched on. I am re-establishing it here in my new gardens in Annapolis Royal as well this very winter, from the same seed.
