On the photo is the iris that I put in the AGS 2010 online show as Iris attica.
I got the remark that this is probably Iris reichenbachiana.
What are the differences to ID both ?
The secound photo is another view of the same clump.

Hurrah! an iris! ;D
Sorry Luc, I've been gazing bleary-eyed at the snowdrop threads for an hour and a half. An iris is very welcome.
I can't help from photos. In my experience I reichenbachiana is quite a bit taller then I. attica.

Exactly my thoughts Lesley !
However, Luc's plant does seem to miss the sickle shape in the leaves ???

Lesley you must be suffering from niphablepsia, or photokeratitis; you must have forgotten to wear your galanthospecs when viewing. ;D

You're right Luc, I should have noticed that, which would make it reichenbachiana all right. There was such a good floral display that the leaves seemed irrelevant but of course they are not. ::)
Mark, I'm not sure of these conditions but I've certainly had my fill of Galanthus for a while. That mine are all underground doesn't help when viewing the pics and posts. :D

Niphablepsia or photokeratitis are better known as "snow blindness".

Ah... thank you Mark. Yes, definitely though you seem to have plenty of the real stuff at present. The picture of your deck table is wonderful.

I don't think that the iris in question is iris reichenbachii. The height of the plant is only 12-15 cm at the most.
I will observe the shape of the leaves in a few weeks time to see if they have a sickle-shape. And I have a few plants of reichenbachii closeby so comparison between both will be easy.

Could it be Iris schachtii?
-
Reminds me of my Iris pseudopumila
see attached

Since many years I have this as Iris attica, which might be wrong.
But Franz Hadacek states that it is variable. See here;

I think there is an important point to be recognised here..... Luc first talks of Iris reichenbachiana then of Iris reichenbachii.... the point being that Iris reichenbachii is a smal bearded iris while Iris reichenbachiana is an old synonym for Iris spruria subsp. spuria.... something quite other!
There seem to be a great many instances of reichenbachii being wrongly called ( and labelled in shows) as I. reichenbachiana! :-X :'(
