Jes, Erythronium 'Craigton Cover Girl' needs to be propagated vegetatively and having released a few over the years we are now trying to build up our own stock.

Maggie - I hope it becomes a success, and hear very much if. . . .
and is it named after you ? - I like it :)

Craigton Cover Girl is very lovely... and no, she wasn't named after me!
She appeared in a photo of Ian's used for the cover of an issue of The Rock Garden SRGC journal and so Ian decided that Cover Girl was a good name for her when he began distributing the plant.

Here is Craigton Cover Girl being a Cover Girl.......

Well she should have been named after you. I would like to have a plant named after me, but there is no chance of that.

I have been searching for postings with information on seed collection of Erythronium and came across your response to Jes in January. I am hoping that you have the answer to my question.
I want to try starting Erythronium from seeds. I have Erythronium Pagoda and I see their seed pods growing.
Could you tell me how I can tell if seeds are mature to be harvested?
I live slightly father north latitude-wise to where you live, I believe.
Thank you for your help!!

Hello koko-san
I have grown Erythronium japnonicum for many years, but I may not be able to tell about other species.
The seeds will be harvested when the seeds pods begin to be splitted.
Erythronium japonicum is very hardy and pretty.
If you are interested , please let me know your address by E-mail, I will send some fresh seeds later.
With best regards
tetsuo
