Title: Myosotidium hortensia seeds
Post by: John Kitt on January 06, 2011, 03:58:16 AM
Need help.

I am currently collecting these seeds and am unsure how to process them.
The seed is inside a fibrous sheath. Do I remove the sheath and just keep the inner  black seed?

In the garden it doesn't seem to matter  -  they pop up like weeds in Spring.

I wish they'd pop up like weeds here.  ::)  Tried them twice (although not from seed) and lost them both times. :'(  No idea what the seed should look like, sorry I can't help.

Yes, remove all else and just keep the black seeds but packet them right away and refrigerate them air tight. Like many Boraginaceae they seem to be somewhat ephemeral and need either to be sown right away or stored, if not moist, at least not dehydrated.

Many thanks Lesley. I'll follow those instructions.
