Title: Orostachys iwarenge

Hi,

I am just going over the photos from the AGS Chiltern Branch symposium in September, where a lovely plant caught my eye.

There has been some discussion about this elsewhere, but can anyone suggest where to get one of these? Google has not been helpful, hence the question.

Seeds are for it are available from the 2010-2011 NARGS seed exchange.

i have still found very little in the way of wild collected (or controlled pollination) orostachys seed :(
usually only a common species are two are available, if that...

Maren, this probably will not be of any help for you in the UK, but this wonderful little hardy succulent is popular (and common) here in the USA in rock gardening circles, frequently found on the sales benches of regular garden centers.  If its ok, I'm going to post a little photo essay on this unique rock garden plant, and two other species, Orostachys aggregata and O. fimbriata.  These plants are growing in the garden of Peter George in Central Massachusetts, USA.

Dear Mark,

what a lovely Christmas gift, thank you so much for posting, I had no idea the florescences would elongate to such an extent. But is it really hardy?

I shall try to trace the exhibitor of this plant and ask for a small piece.

And Lori, thank you for the pointer to the seed list. I'll give that a try. :) :) :)
