Hi
Has anyone ever heard of such a plant?
It really looks like A.narcissiflora though a bit larger and less compact in all parts ( in my garden), it would come from North America, but I don't find absolutely anything about it anywhere in books or on the web.
Perhaps a completely mislabelled plant, or even a pure invention, does somebody know?

It wouldn't be Anemone canadensis, would it?

No, I also have the A.canadensis, but both are two different plants.
I put a pic, it only shows the flowers. Not really helpful for an identification but I haven't got anything else for the moment ;)
And time for identification will come when (if) the plant will have at least a true recognized name ;)

Are you sure it isn't tetrasepala? It is not unlike narcissiflora.

Philippe, I cannot find anything even close to that name "quadrisepala" in reference to Anemone, nor in synonymy either. I used IPNI.ORG, did a search on Anemone q* and nothing close comes up. Searching just on the name "quadrisepala" in IPNI or Google, shows that "quadrisepala" is a rare epithet, and has been used for an Impatiens, Lobelia, Ruschia, Ruellia, and several other families but nothing in Ranunculaceae. My guess is that it is a completely mislabeled name.
Trond, your guess of tetrasepala is probably correct.

Yes, I grow the himalayan A.tetrasepala too.
But once again, my mystery pseudo north-american plant is rather something else in overall appearance :P
I knew this would be a difficult case, that's why I tried here on the forum.
I think this A.quadrisepala is effectively just mislabeled, most probably it's just an A.narcissiflora variation.
So, the positive point ist that there will be more free space for new plantations at this place next year ;D
