Troughs. I have various troughs to find homes for, either with the contents or empty. They range from hypertufa home made jobs to the brown farmers sinks plus one light-weight garden centre one.

How much for postage to Canada???? :o :o :o
Am sure you will get lots of takers, Anthony.

Anthony,
You really know how to make those of us in other countries really jealous, Anthony. ::)

Only an hour from Dunblane so not a problem.
Anthony I am interested in the brown farmers sinks. Can you tell me how many you have and their sizes and of course their prices. The latter being the most important.
Photos would be helpful if you can.
You can PM me

Attach keels, rudders, masts and sails and add a little person to steer, and send them south. ;D

I'll take some pics. I have two farmers' troughs - one small and one larger. I also have a wood and glass orchid growing cabinet which is free to good home. It has heat and light plus a timer and has sliding glass doors. It's quite large.

Here's some pics of my troughs.

Do you new plans for the garden?

If you don't dispose of them all, you could auction or raffle them in aid of the local group.

Anthony,
It is only now seeing you having to find new homes for your troughs that the full extent of your new venture has struck home to me. What a wrench it must be to have to give up all the plants you have nurtured for all these years I am not sure that I could do it.
But then I thought about all the fun and excitment that you are going to have setting up and exploring a new garden in a new home in a new country.
I wish you all the very best of luck and while I look forward to seeing posts from your new home and garden.

wow a new country! :o Will you be near forum members?

We have our residency visas, so just one or two hurdles to jump and the greenhouse, shed and garage to clear.

Where to Anthony?
-
New Zealand is the intention David (touch wood) - just a few 'is' to dot and 'ts' to cross.
-
One good thing about this forum is that we don't lose our friends...wherever they are in the world we can keep in touch and it will be great to see and hear about Anthony's new adventure.
Your troughs are lovely.
Angie :)

I hope he doesn't go and do something silly like live in Auckland! No alpines there. ???

Well done, I'm sure you will all be happy there. Will PM you over the week-end.
-
Anthony,
Well THAT will dramatically increase the chances of me actually meeting you one day. ;D Good show!! I think there is far more chance of me getting to NZ than the UK, although I would like to go to both. ;)
-
Good luck in your new venture Anthony NZ is a great country! Looking forward to seeing you developing a garden and hatching some surprises there - good to have met you :)
-
Four down; four to go! ;D
-
Is Auckland still in New Zealand, Lesley? I thought they had gone their own way and we were all just contributing to their upkeep.
Glad to hear your news Anthony. Lovely part of the world to live - are you coming somewhere hot and sunny - growing tropicals, bananas and citrus..................

Four down; four to go! ;D
Lovely troughs I got two, and I got all the lovely plants in them.
Mind you my dog thought he would have a go at emptying it before we got the other one in. Not to much damage, managed to save the plants that he thought he would thin out for me.
Thank you Anthony for them. By the way folks if you haven't met Anthony before, he looks a lot younger than he does in his picture ;D. Hope you didn't mind me saying this Anthony.

I was a lot older when that picture was taken Angie. ::) It was when we beat the Egg Heads last March!

Hi Tony
I'm maybe too late but would appreciate having another 2 or 3 troughs for my garden. If there are any left, I could take one of the stone cattle troughs and a couple of hypertufa ones. If all the stone ones are gone, 3 hypertufa ones would be great. As you know, I can collect when it suits you.
Hoping all your arrangements for the 'big move' are going smoothly (do things like this ever go smoothly?) and that you and the family will enjoy your new home in NZ. We'll miss you at our Shows but know that we'll be able to keep an eye on you from afar through the Forum.
Good luck, Liz

Hi Liz,
I'm afraid I got the two farmers troughs. Picked them up on Sunday. One was a real struggle it's the largest trough I have. We had to decant the compost and plants before we could get it in the car. I got the plants too. A new set for my collection.
Met Angie there while she was collecting her troughs.

The weather was kind to us. I'm glad the plants and troughs have found good homes.

Sounds as if the troughs have gone to very good homes.
Anthony.... when will the Eggheads be shown.... I haven't seen it yet though we watch when we can.....and I'd be furoius if we'd missed it. :-\
-
Graham hope you got them all planted up. Mine are looking good in front of my greenhouse. Nice meeting you again.
Anthony the views around Dunblane are lovely. We wished we had taken our camera.
I would have loved to have seen your garden in the summer you had so many interesting plants. It's so nice to have a garden that gets so much sun. Thanks again for the troughs, it was very generous
Angie :)

Angela, how nice you got the troughs.... dare I ask how Derek's bad back is now? :-\
-
Hi Tony
Obviously FAR TOO LATE with my request. That'll teach me to keep in touch with the Forum more regularly. But it sounds like all your troughs have gone to very good homes where the plants will have a better chance of survival than with me.

Gosh - these posts have crept up on me. I have promised my mum one. Diane Clement has expressed an interest in the light-weight one, but it might be more trouble than it's worth moving it long distances? That leaves two Liz (I have emailed you), as seen in the third picture.

Yes Maggi I was really pleased to get the troughs and they are planted up lovely.
Derek's back is much better, still not 100% . He is going swimming everyday and has started a yoga class.
He hasn't played any golf as yet. :-X
Thanks for asking.

Angie,
Best wishes for your husband's recovery. Having had back problems myself in the past, he has my sympathy. Hopefully he's on the way to a full recovery. 8)
-
Hi Paul
Thanks for your wishes. He is much, much better. I suppose this getting older is a rude awaking to the two of us.
Angie :)
-
I suspect heaving troughs about wouldn't have helped? :-\
-
Anthony you had the heavy end. ::) ;D

Many, many thanks, Tony, for the present of the plants when I called to collect the 2 remaining troughs (one for me and one for Diane). I'll try not to kill them over the winter and might try to plant your trough with NZ plants - might be quite appropriate don't you think. I wish you and your family all the very best of luck for your new life and will keep my eye out for your posts on the Forum.

No problem Liz. Off to a car boot sale tomorrow. Needs must, as they say.
