The Ferny Creek Horticultural Society's Flower Festival was held last weekend and I managed to get a few pics to post here. Not a lot of labels though!
First the Rock Garden Section.
The Blue Ribbon in the Cut-flowers was a selction of lachenalias exhibited by Rex Shields,

Oh, my word- what a fantastic range of things to see at this superb show  8)
Truly impressive displays from individuals and clubs alike.

Brian's right, I love the rhodos... and the Epacris is fabulous, the Telopeas.... and the Iris.... and the Black Panther paeony is sumptuous..... crikey, I love it ALL!

And to cap it all, one could visit the show, enjoy all those plants on display and themn BUY a great bunch of flowers to take home as a souvenir!! Just fantastic!

another photo of some colour forms of the most showy of our Waratahs - per bunch for $10 .-they last a long time as cut flowers .
The pot of the double primrose 'Miss Indigo' came from my garden ( I could not enter because I was a judge )-but I had hoped that at the end of our show our president would open the bottle of Shiraz and offer me a glass , but it did not eventuate . Perhaps he was concerned ,as I had to drive home .

Amazing, those green vases have made it right round the globe! Now I know why our local garden club is running out, they've been exported.

Great show.

Excellent pics, both Fermi and Otto.

Martin,

We had our local Iris Rhododendron and Azalea show here in Canberra this past weekend as well..... full of those same little green vases.  ;D  You export us as convicts, then export your little green vases here as well.  ;)

I put a bunch of entries in the show here, won a bunch of prizes, and didn't take a single picture unfortunately as I had to get to work (and the next day as well, so I never got back to the show).  Some beautiful stuff, but unfortunately I can't show you any of it. ::)  Champion container of beardless iris was one of my Pacific Coast Irises..... always nice to beat the likes of dutch iris etc with these little beauties.  ;D ;D
