From Fermi, about Judy, who was an important member of the Victoria Group and who had been an SRGC Member for many years:
" It’s my very sad duty to inform you of the death of Judy Macalister-Passauer after a short battle against cancer.
Judy was a Life member of the Alpine Garden Society, Victorian Group, and had been its president for many years and remained a committee member for a few years more.
I first met Judy at the Ferny Creek Horticultural Society where she was usually called on to discuss the plants on the Show bench and she has frequently acted as a Judge for the Rock garden section at the FCHS Shows.
She was very knowledgeable about plants but most importantly was the way she encouraged new members to participate in the club. She will be sadly missed.
Her funeral will be on July 26th 10am at Lilydale memorial park chapel, 128 Victoria Rd Lilydale."
Our sympathies are with Judy's family and friends at this sad time.
