Title: Large leaf Rhodo for ID.
Post by: Graham Catlow on July 04, 2010, 07:37:54 PM
As DaveyP thinks your on fire are the moment Maggi how hot are you on Large leafed Rhodos.

This has flowered once since I got it. The flower photo was taken 27th April 2007. I grow it in a large tub, (no room in the garden), so I'm not too surprised it doesn't flower well.
The new spikes of growth have just begun to unfurl.
The largest leaf measures 33cm long by 13cm wide.
I have added all the photos I think you will need.

Once again I can't find anything on the Glendoick site that fits, but I'm sure that's where it.

This post isn't just for Maggi if anyone else has any ideas please feel free to comment.

Large leaved rhodos, being so much happier on the West coast of Scotland, are not exactly my forte, Graham.... I'll give you a possibility, though... bearing in mind those good flower trusses and lovely bullate foliage.... R. argyrophyllum ssp nankingense.... but I'm not sure if that has the red leaf bracts..... :-\

Just simmering with the large leafed ones Maggi  ;)
Thanks for replying.
I will Google the possibility and see what I can make of it.
