Title: Untouched beauty of Macedonia

A few days ago, our small group realised a short trip in Macedonia (FYROM).

The country of Macedonia is very diverse; there are some prairies, nice lakes but first of all the mountains.

igor, interesting crocus, saxifrags and convolvolus....between the convolvolus is an dianthus...
very nice area, many rare plants....thanks for showing...

So many good plants.... the natural rock dwellers are so beautiful but for Ian and I it is the Crocus which are the most exciting. 8)
Not so sure about the excitiment of finding armaments scattered about though..... excitement is one thing but old bombs are dangerous, not exciting!  :o

 Igor very nice plants! for me the C. scardicus forms are most beautiful. Thanks for showing us all these beauty.

Thank you for these pics of the ' beauty of Macedonia' - they brought back memories from the beginning of May about 3 decades ago - the region around Skopje (Solunska Glava) was indeed one of the most interesting places I ever visited.

Igor thank you such wonderful pictures of crocus scardicus and so many. I knew it liked water and it is so nice to see it growing in nature. I am very envious  8). Thanks again for sharing

Hi all,

Thank you very much for all your responses. I have to say that the nature in Macedonia is very beautiful and the people are very friendly. We hope we return there next year so we can bring some other pictures of Balkan Mountains and its flowers.

Many thanks for showing us this wild beauty Igor - and like a lot of people wrote earlier on : the Crocus are magnificent !  8)
