Title: Zephyranthes drummondii?
Post by: Paul T on June 17, 2010, 08:18:47 AM
Howdy All,

Dose this look right for Zephyranthes drummondii?  I know that the leaves are supposed to be blue-ish, and these are to a degree, but I think the flower doesn't look quite right?  Anyone able to confirm or deny that this looks to be the correct species?  It was grown from seed.

Apologies about the background of the pic, and very hard to focus the camera properly for the side shot to show the stem and the leaf etc.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Thanks Hans.  Some of the pics I had seen showed it a little more spidery than this, so I was wondering whether I had a hybrid or something.  Nice to know it is the right ID. 8)

Thanks again.

Looks like a lovely species Paul. Did you grow it from seed? Welcome back to the Forum, by the way. You were in the wilderness for more then 40 days. :) I believe you may be going down to Vic in Sept? Might see you there. :D

Lesley,

Yes, grown from seed from a seedex, hence the uncertainty about naming.  Yes, hoping for Sept.  8)
