Title: Scrophularia identification

Can anyone identify this plant please, it is a Scrophularia I am certain, but which?

I know it's a real puzzle.  We also sent a picture to John Simmons (ex curator of the living collections at Kew) he suggests
S. sambucifolia.  Looking at Google I think he may be correct, he often comes on some of our weekends away and is an absolute goldmine of information.

It's a lovely plant growing well in woodland conditions to about a metre, I'm hoping it will have got through the winter but there is no sign of it yet :-\

Well, those Kew chaps are no slouches.... JS has surely come up with the correct  answer in Scrophularia sambucifolia ........ I love the clue of those sambuca-like leaves we can just spot in your picture..... 8)
I was visualising a plant about 15- 18 inches high ( 35-45cms) ..... so hard to get  idea of scale at times and your plant is clearly just extending in the photo... just hope it will reappear for you.
