Found in chalky soil (near an old limestone quarry) blooming the first week of June in Northern France. Is it in the CAPRIFOLIACEAE or ROSACEAE family or still something else?

Rob,
I think it is a Cornus sanguinea.

It's been a while since I've noticed Dogwood around. Seems a little late this year due to the hard winter. Thanks much for your help.
