Between seasons here in Kentucky but here are a few shots taken today (May 21st) in the Daniel Boone National Forest.
1. Castilleja coccinea
2. Meehania cordata
3. Viola sp. (not keyed out yet)
4. Penstemon canescens
and 5. Who said it was safe to take photos in the forest??????

It's the tree I feel sorry for. Do they get lead poisoning?

Glad you're getting some hot weather in the UK at last.....won't do the alpines much good though !!!
What with shotguns, bears, snakes and high humidity...it's a little different than Manchester over here....but we stlll love it.
