These look like Hyacinths to me but I cannot find anything resembling them on the web or in a book I have on Mediterannean wild flowers. Thanks for any help you can give me.
They were found blooming in Liguria near Levanto (overlooking the sea coast) at the beginning of April.

Rob,
What was the Cinque Terre like? My wife want to go there for a walking holiday and we would like to hear how you got on there.

Hi Rob,
I have been there in spring, end april-beginning may, two years ago. The coastal pathways are very nice indeed. Landscape-wise and many plants. But if you walk away from the coast and move into the hills/mountains you will be flabbergasted! In the light forests grow many (!) orchids and other plants. I found it sort of paradise there. I think summer is not too good for wild plants there.
Greetings, Guus

Sounds very promising, Guus.
