Two more choices for the Shows this coming weekend .....
there is the SRGC/AGS one at Hexham or an AGS one at Exeter.........
March 27 NORTHUMBERLAND SHOW AGS/SRGC, The Wentworth Leisure Centre, Hexham, NE46 3PN.
March 27 SOUTH WEST SHOW, St Luke's Science & Sports College, Harts Lane, Exeter, EX1 3RD.

We will be at Hexham as usual and are looking forward to it as it is always a terrific and well organised show and the members plant stall is usually very well supported with real bargains to be had. Even better for the show being right in the town so you can wander off during the day if you tire of buying or talking about plants (it does happen, honest) or want some lunch etc.
Last year we sat in the cafe at the venue for a while with an assortment of other exhibitors. I recall there were a lot of little madams in pink tutus flitting about, evidently there was a ballet class going on somewhere in the leisure centre!
And as for the Pussycat Dolls video being shown constantly on the big telly in there! Well I didn't know where to look. Ok, actually i did know but it was hard work not getting caught doing it.
Last year the show coincided with a farmers market in the town and we spent a fortune on food once Susan had dragged me away from aforementioned telly (i was merely monitoring the content in case any of it was unsuitable for the show attendees of more advanced years dear...).
If you haven't been to the Northumberland show before please do come and join us on Saturday, you won't regret it.

Will anyone be at Exeter? I shall be there all day.

Even for trained hoppers, Exeter is well out of reach David .. :'(
I hope you'll have a great time and win a couple of firsts ! ;)

Luc, I'll be struggling to find anything to enter this year I'm afraid. :(

Now, call me an incurable optimist (I have been called MUCH worse!) but I'm thinking that if you are not lucky enough to have plants to arrange on the show bench David, there will be more time for you to take photos to share with us! ;D ;D ;) :-*

I thought that as well until our Show Secretary sent me my list of duties for the day. I'll be lucky if I get a chance to go to the loo ;D

Just to illustrate one reason whyI shall have nothing on the showbench at Eexter this year.
My Iris graeberiana which last year got me a first in Section C in the One bulbous plant category.

And, the same plant today. Same cultivation so it can only be a weather "thing". It might be ready in a fortnight's time.

Too bad David.. :(
Maybe you'd be willing to take it way up North to one of the later shows... :-\ ;)
