Title: Frost on Plants
Post by: mark smyth on March 09, 2010, 09:51:55 PM
I'm sure everyone has seen frost on plants for the last few weeks. I woke early today and went out to take photos. Hopefully others will post their own ...

Crocus tom.
Eranthis Guinea Gold
Galanthus elwesii
Galanthus plicatus Wendys Gold
Iris Katharine Hodgkin

It's no use when people insist on an early visit to see the snowdrops and crocus. A group are coming tomorrow and I suggested after 1pm and better after 2pm but they want to come before 11am - the snowdrops will be lying down.

I woke early today

Honestly Mark.  Sunrise here (at an even higher latitude) is around 7am just now - and by that time I have already been out and fed my hens !

You ought to be up with the larks, hire a white van: load it up with bags of John Innes: ferry across to Stranraer: down and across to Hull: ferry to Rotterdam: flog it all, at a profit, to Dutch and Belgian forumists. back to Norn Iron and a life of luxury ;D
