Title: odd Nivalis? problem or interesting?
Post by: RichardW on March 03, 2010, 10:25:07 AM
in my daily trawl through the masses these jumped out at me today.

there are two small clumps both displaying the same feature, the inner segment is translucent, for want of a better word, so appears green with the anthers creating an orange "glow"

the plants appear healthy but wonder if this is a sign of poor health? or a natural but very attractive oddity? Not seen anything like it before here but maybe it is quite common?

Richard we saw something similar last week on the forum. It looks like the anthers are shining through due to a damaged inner

I've seen this and been excited by it but I fear it is just a phenomenon that sometimes happens as the flower is about to go over.

John, this is a bad sign. Hope for you, it`s only a normal plant. If the flowers look  glassy, often the plant is infected.
