I have all Crocus tomassinianus cultivars - that I know of - except one.
Does anyone grow Claret or know where I could buy/swap for a few corms?
-
Mark, I bought Claret from 'de Bolle Jist' some years ago and also from Dix.
Both stocks were mixed with other tommies, but I have selected the true
ones and should be able to send you some small corms in summer.

Thomas you are a star, thanks. :-* :D

Mark - I just had a look at Claret on your website. It's is sensational.
We got 300 C. tomassinianus Roseus from Holland last autumn and are anxiosuly awaiting the first flowers.

var roseus is soooo nice. I cant remember the name of the darkest purple but it's also a stunner. I have Barr's Purple, Whitewell Purple and Ruby Giant. The one with white tubes is multiplying fast.

Am I allowed to make another request:
I'm still looking for tommasiniansu 'Lynn's Pink'
Can anybody help me?

"Crocuses have a tendency to flop in a warm frame. The heat seems to force the flowers a bit too much with the result that their tubes are unable to support the flower bowl and they fall over. A flopped crocus is not a pretty crocus. Every year these crocus in pots flower at the time of the Dunblane Early Bulb Display i.e. the 3rd Saturday in February. Lyn Bezzant found a special clump of Crocus tommasinianus in her Monievreckie garden. She named the form 'Lyn's Pink' and it is quite distinct being a rich pink / purple colour, always much more rosy the any others which I grow. The flowers start deeper in colour and lighten a little over a few days."
