Hi,
I have been asked if I would be willing to send a plant to a grower in Ireland (I am in England), does anyone know if there are any legal issues that I should be aware of if I were to agree to do so?
Many thanks for any help, James

No restrictions whatever in sending plants to Ireland, provided you can't smoke them. :)
-
Thanks Michael, I will go ahead!
-
We will even accept those you can smoke.

James, there are very few restrictions on plant transfers between European countries.
Government sites like this : http://www.fera.defra.gov.uk/plants/plantHealth/
http://www.fera.defra.gov.uk/plants/publications/plantHealth/documents/importersGuide0909.pdf
http://www.fera.defra.gov.uk/plants/forms/documents/plantHealth/DEF-PHI1-FERA-1.pdf
http://www.fera.defra.gov.uk/plants/publications/plantHealth/documents/ifindoubt.pdf
http://www.defra.gov.uk/animalhealth/CITES/
can be a help to check CITES listed plants etc, which are governed by stricter rules.

Thanks Maggi, the plant I want to export is not in the CITES database, so I gues I'm OK.

Then there should be no problem at all for you, James :)
