Title: Rotterdam
Post by: Jane on January 15, 2010, 06:28:30 PM
Hello,
we are planning a trip to see Arboretum Trompenburg in June and was wondering if any one could suggest other gardens/places that would be worth visiting in the area. We shall be taking our 4 year old daughter with us so anything that might make it interesting for her would a plus!
Many thanks
Jane

I hope this helps:
(from 'Gardens of The Netherlands and Belgium' by Barbara Abbs.  Published in 1999 by Mitchell Beazley).
I liked Leiden Botanic Garden. Boat trips round Rotterdam Port are good too.

I don't remember how close it is to Rotterdam about 90 mins maybe, but well worth the visit

The website describes it as a garden ideas park 190 different gardens we were there 3 years ago and will go there again next year when we visit the Netherlands

Thanks for that Arie. Pity the 'Gnomes are fun and animals are cute' isn't one when we go!
