Some time ago I said I couldn't see pictures Ian Young posted of the troughs he made. I thought they were dark. Such was not the case however, and today I have discovered why. When I bought my current computer I didn't replace the screen as the old one I had seemed fine. But it must have been fading and I hadn't noticed. Today, a whole new internet world is in clear view with a new (to me) flat screen that fellow forumist Sue Gill no longer needs. Not just Ian's pictures, but all the pictures are so much brighter and easy to see now. So apologies to Ian et al, I'll look at that thread again now!

Congratulations, Chris. It makes a difference, doesn't it. I remember when I got my present computer I was amazed how much brighter everything was.... the old screen had been deteriorating slowly. ::)
And a nice Christmas Present for you!! ;D

It reminds me of the time I used to go to the movies a lot in Toronto, and kept complaining that the films were out of focus, I'd march to the back of the cinema demanding they sort it out. Until I found out I needed glasses ;D and all of a sudden everything was in sharp focus once again. Silly old me....
Even the pictures I've been taking with my digital camera looked really dark, but if I printed them out suddenly I could see they had been fine, now its all much much better. That screen must have been deteriorating slowly so I didn't really notice how bad it was getting.
