I'm sure this is a grass. Does anyone know which one?
-
mark im sure i have sold that grass at the garden center i used to work at, its a carex 'sparkler' or something like that
-
I just Googled it and it looks like it. Thanks
-
Very nice too, Mark.
-
It grows in a friends garden. If it has seeds are you interested?
-
The seedlings are very unlikely to be variegated.
-
Yep, unlikely to be variegated. I would imagine that without a species name, a carex wouldn't be allowed in via seed to Aus anyway, as I am guessing that there are species on the banned list as weed potential. I haven't checked ICON to be sure though.

C. phyllocephala
-
Mark,
Not mentioned on the list, so wouldn't be allowed in. 4 are allowed in, 11 banned, and 3 are still being evaluated. C. phyllocephala is not amongst them. I rather like the variegation anyway, so would be wanting a variegated result. ;D ;D As Lesley said, very unlikely unfortunately, even if seed was allowed in.

Bobby Ward says that when it seeds around it produces plain green babies.
