Hello - can anybody give me a name to this plant, flowering in Liguria/Italy in the beginning
of April on 1200m altitude?
Sorry, posted this two times by mistake - Maggi could you please delete this one?
Wasn't there a "delete"-button in the posts long time ago?
-
Yes, Thomas, there was such a button... I will remove it for you. ;)
I think the yellow Dentaria is Dentaria enneaphylla
-
Or it could be Cardamine (Dentaria) kitaibelii.
-
Simon, since you mention it, I believe that Dentaria enneaphylla may now be referred to as Cardamine enneaphylla :-\
We're back to the "plants don't read the maps" scenario.... isn't Cardamine (Dentaria) kitaibelii from Croatia......how far a leap is that to Liguria? ???
Geography is certainly not my strong point! :-[

Thanks Maggi for deleting my mistake.
After having a look into the Flora Italia I found that both (Cardamine kitaibelii and elleaphyllos)
occour in Liguria, but from the photos I googled I think that Simon is right, because kitaibelii
has finer leaves like my plant has, while the leaves of enneaphyllos are much broader.
Thanks Simon - hope to see the plant again next April.
-
Yes, I see that the leaves are more narrow.
Mr Kitaibel actually described several Cardamine/Dentarias, I think.... small world, isn't it? ;)
-
My pleasure. There are some lovely members of the genus- great for ground cover in the woodland garden :)
-
Simon, if you want I could try to collect some seed next year for your help.

Aha!!! So Thomas has lost his "Remove" button too. Perhaps we all have? ???
The yellow Dentaria is a beauty. :)
