Chris Sanham, ("Snowdropman"), has just dropped me a line to say that the RHS daffodils, Snowdrops & Tulips Yearbook is out. He also mentioned that in the little publicity note, that accompanied Ronald Mackenzie's catalogue, it says that this year there are a record number of photo's of snowdrops, plus 6 article & some 'snippets'.

I recommend the new yearbook too. Good articles about galanthus ;)
-
Mark - Last year I got a copy from Mr J. Akers. Does he have email as the shipping cost may have changed?

How can I get a copy please, can't find any reference to it on the RHS Web Site
-
Here is the order-nr. of the yearbook: ISBN 978-1-907057-04-5
-
Hagen, thanks for that, do I take it then that I can order a copy from any book seller?
-
I think, yes, David. Only here in Germany it`s a problem to order English books.
-
Many thanks to Paddy for posting this thread.

Snowdrops at the RHS show
Galanthus peshmenii - a snowdrop with many faces
Alan Street - snowdrops I have found
Good feature on Tulips
-
I forgot Valentin has an article on snowdrops he has found.
Our Thomas did some translating from German to English for one article

I should have read the post above mine ::)

Thank you, Chris, for bulking out the information. I should have asked you the obvious question before posting and saved you the bother. Details of postage cost to areas outside the U.K. would be welcome.
I find it particularly wonderful that some of the contributors are forum members. It adds a great interest for me to read their work.

Chris, many thanks for the information.
-
My copy arrived early last week - I would say it is the most 'snowdrop' filled copy of the Daffodil book ever. ;D
And some new contributors writing articles - ( for some reason the names look familiar ;) )
-
John & Paddy - as promised I have checked out the prices to your respective countries - £9.00 or 10 Euro's for Ireland, £13.35 for Canada.
I have also updated my earlier note, which now shows the all inclusive price for anywhere in the world.

Very helpful, Chris, thank you 8)

Many thanks, Chris. Very helpful that payment will be accepted in Euro.

JohnW,
Distribution is being carried out this year by John Gibson - e-mail address :-
gibbo.john@virgin.net I think you can get from him at a better than list price of £11.95. There are also good articles about the autumn flowering Narcissus species - the N. serotinus/ N. miniatus/ N. obsoletus/N. deficiens controversy - should still keep botanists busy for a while!

I should have read the post above mine ::)
MArk,
And I should have read down also before repeating the John Gibson supplier info.!

Just home from work and the 2011 yearbook has arrived. I've only had a very quick flick through but there look to be a few articles, and some lovely pictures, on 'drops for me to peruse in bed tonight.
Available from the same name and address that Chris gave below - but now £9.25 (EURO 15) made payable to 'the Royal Horticultural Society'
-
John, thanks for that. Since you have your copy I take it that you subscribe in some way. How do I go about it rather than my having to order a copy on an annual basis please?
-
Hi David
I just order it when I hear it is out. Usually an advertising insert arrives with a catalogue around November/December and I send cheque in the post.
Except for the year that Chris had one of my photos published in it and a free copy dropped through my letterbox unexpectedly. ;D
-
Thanks John.
-
Good article Anne.
-
Hmmmmmmmmmmm wonder if you can collect in person,as I work in Kettering ;)
-
Mine arrived within a few days Chas - and you don't have to pay extra for the postage. :)
