I have a small amount of seed (five packets of ten seeds) collected a couple of days ago on the beach at Side in Turkey if any body wants them.

I can't say I've seen the pods before, Tony, very interesting photo.
Good trip? I hear there has been some wet weather in those parts of late? Not enough to interfere with your camera's work, I trust? !! ::) ;)

Excellent trip thanks Maggi, one of my best to that area. The weather had some awful days- rain ,very cold, terrible winds ,looking out the window ,just as it is here now.Seemed just like home.
I was clearly a few weeks too late to see the pancratium in flower which is what I would have preferred.
Some of the pictures seem okay and I will post them when I get them sorted in the next couple of days.

Ah, Tony,
Those seeds could be the start of years of disappointment and frustration if they produce plants similar to my pancraticum maritinum - foliage without fail but never a flower. Compost bin? I think so. (my plant, that is)

Hi Tony, I'd love to have some seeds! I'll send you a PM.
Paddy, I read somewhere that the bulbs like to grow close together in order to flower. They seem to like te be planted in deep beach-sand, with even some salt added. Anyway, that was the only way I could grow them for many years, but no flowers. I'm experimenting now with different types of soil mix. But they are slow growing and difficult...

Hans, bar kissing their ...... I couldn't do anything else to make them flower. Nuisances!
Best of luck with them.

Tony you certainly do get about. I guess Factor 30 is high on Santa's list ;D

Shelagh not this time. I got my bikini on a couple of times but overall just like the weather Janis had, it was very cold ,wind and rain with lots of snow on the mountains. Only had one person wants the seed, clearly very few optimists out there.

Tony,
I've just had a mental image of a guy wearing a bikini on a cold and windy day, collecting seeds from coastal plants. I think I'm scarred for life now. :o
;D ;D
