Title: Galanthus artjuschenkoae
Post by: Boyed on October 26, 2009, 06:53:03 AM
This year with the help of the latest article of our famous botanist Nora Gabrielian I managed to find 2 local galanthus species in neighbouring Tavush region - g. alpinus and g. artjuschenkoae. G. alpinus has finished blooming at the time we visited its locality, but g. artjuschenkoae was in full bloom. I was really highly impressed by the beauty of it - quite large, vigorous and showy plant of good garden merit. Just wanted to share few pictures, baring in mind that many galanthus lovers take a great interest in this species.

Zhirair,

Excellent pics.  Thanks.  If I could ever find it over here in Australia I would grow it just for the name alone.  It has such a wonderful flow to it.  Great form to the flowers too.  8)

;D No denying the  charm of the snowdrop species, Michael...... and I must admit there are a few cultivars shown recently on the Forum which are very pretty.... but my resistance is strong.... I've had the flu jab! :P

Indeed, it is very beautiful and showy galanthus pecies. In sizes it can compete with any large-sized and tall garden cultivar.
