Title: A different Q about potting up cuttings now?
Post by: newstart on September 25, 2009, 11:14:25 AM
Can i pot up cuttings till the end of October? I say this as it may be bad to do this nearer winter.

Thanks again!

I dont do enough cuttings but you want to do it while their is still enough warmth in the soil to encourage fresh root growth before frost come

A agree with Mark entirely. If their growth is stopped due to colder weather they may rot off. I like to pot both seedlings and cutting no later than March (NZ, September for you), and only in a season which is reasonably settled. In changeable conditions, late September could well be too late.
