Title: Colchicum Autumnale

Dear readers,
I am having some problem defferentiating between Colchicum Aumnale, Colchicum Byzantium and Colchicum Speciosum. I purchased a quantity of bulbs, each labelled as mentioned, but believe they were mislabelled. I have been unable to find any good pictures or descriptions which enable me to identify them or the differentiate between them.
The bulbs labelled Autumnale flower a bit ealier than the Byzantium (which I have identified as true Byzantium) but to complicate matters I also have some 2 distinct types labelled Autumnale. One a dark flower stemmed form and another virtually identical to Byzantium. The stamens are cream coloured I think. I say I think because they seem to have a pink-purple tinge as they age. The Byzantium is variably pink-purple from the outset.

I have some photo's taken on a cheap camera. I will post as soon as I get a handle on posting pictures and finish giving the daughter a bath.

Attached are some photo's. I previously stated the stamens are pink-purple. After viewing the pictures again I now see the style are also.
