Title: not Dicentra torulosa
Post by: Linda_Foulis on September 11, 2009, 01:06:52 AM
This one came to me as Dicentra torulosa.  Whatever this is, it appears to be perennial for me.  Survived the move quite well and is blooming now and in it's third year.  It seems to bloom continuously over the summer, however not a typical year to be making that judgement.
It grows about 8 inches tall and overall a nice little plant.  The seed pods are very similar to that of other Dicentra, but that is the bloom it produces.
Besides this is very much not a climber.  Any ideas?

The foliage looks like a celandine poppy to me ???

I agree, greater celandine, Chelidonium majus 'Plena' ('Plenum'?).  It seeds around a lot but I like it; it blooms all season through and provides a lot of colour in deep shade.   The excess seedings are easy to pull out.  Mature plants get to about 3' tall - yours are short at 8" -  and they are short-lived perennials here.

That's it, thank you very much.
