Post by: Otto Fauser on September 08, 2009, 08:25:16 AM
I would be interested if some one could confirm if the purple and white form of the Scilla  I grew from seed labelled as Scilla vvedenskyi is true to name ,

also grateful for ID for the other Scilla sp. collected by R. Wallis ,NW of Misyaf , Syria .

   many thanks ,
          Otto.

Can't help Otto, I'm sorry but a quick note to say my xChionoscillas from Marcus are flowering beautifully at present. I ordered them because I was so taken with yours, a year ago. Such a wonderfully intense blue. :)

Otto,
The Scilla from Syria is S. cilicica, you can confirm it easily by looking at the color of the bulb: a unique dark purple.
