Title: Pleiones Downunder 2009
Post by: DavMac on September 06, 2009, 06:32:29 AM
Well, the Pleione season has started here in New Zealand and here are some of the early flowers I have. The 2 Alishans are from a remake using Pleione formosana 'Oriental Splendour' and Pleione Versailles 'Bucklebury'.

I am looking forward several new acquistions to flower for me over the next few weeks and I will try to photograph them as well.

Good show David !
Nice of you to help us through our Summer without Pleione...  ;D

The Alishans look quite different from what we have over here (Mt Fuji, Mothers day, etc...)
The second one in particular shows much more of it's P. versailles 'Bucklebury' parentage.

Thanks for showing !

I'll second Luc on that, a nice collection of flowers.
I'm waiting on my first/last Pleione ( maculata ) to flower, maybe another wek or two......
Looking forward to seeing the rest of yours flowering!!
