Post by: Kees Green on May 27, 2009, 02:36:45 AM
Hi
Can anyone please ID these two narcissus, Iposted them in the Narcissus thread without luck, but am hoping for better luck here.
Regards

[Can anyone please ID these two narcissus,
The first looks like  N. papraceus or N. pannizzianus (I'm not sure if anyone can definately distinguish them - the smaller more refined ones seem to get the latter name). Alternatively it could be one of the many  named cloned or  seedlings, all are commonly known as 'paperwhites'.
The yellow flower is tricky, especially not knowing it's size. It could be a reflexed N. rupicola if small and short or it could be a hybrid between N. cyclamineus and any of the jonquil types.
Sorry can't be more specific.
Brian

No they are from last season, hopefully they may have multiplied for this season.
I only have foliosus flowering now but a few other petticoats have buds on them.
