Thanks for posting these photos Giles, it's great to see the different shows around the country.

Thanks to all my Team at Kent in making the show on Saturday one of the best we have had. I hope all those who came had as good a day as I had.
Best Wishes David

It looks like a fantastic day, David. Thanks for posting the pics, I don't know where you found the time to take them, with a Show secretary's hat on, and exhibitor.
I think modesty prevents David from saying who won the Farrer, but as Maggi says, there's often a clue ;) and although I can't read the exhibitor's card, I can see it was part of a six pan entry of saxifragas, so I guess congratulations are due to you David.
Well done!
-
Yes, many congratulations to David for a well-deserved Farrer Medal. Looks an excellent show - shame we can't experience both our events, David? (Though perhaps we can through the marvels of the internet)?
-
Some lovely pix there, David. Many thanks. Your sax's looked amazing.
-
Many thanks to you all for your good wishes. What a day!! Lets hope another cold winter is just a few months away.

Congratulations, David, well done indeed 8) :D
Looks a super show .... as did the Dunblane and East Lancs.... just think how many plants must have been winging their way around the country this weekend to provide these great displays! :o
-
Many congratulations David.wonderful, wonderful plants and well deserving of a Farrer.
-
My thanks too Giles and David for these marvellous pictures, a very tasty taste of a super Show in Kent. It surprises me a little to see you wishing for another very cold winter David, and soon at that but I suppose the very chilly conditions in the northern hemisphere this year have been the trigger for such brilliant floral displays on saxifrages and dionysias, among other lovely things. So anything can be endured for the sake of the plants. :)
A pleasure to see NZ helichrysums (Ozothamnus species) looking so good, so far from home.

Thank you Giles and David for taking us to this beautiful Show.
Wonderful plants!

Still no sign of pictures of them yet ???. Probably still rowing back on the Channel?? ;D ;D ;D

Did you spot Luc Gilgemyn in David's photos. In the second one the person on his left is Luc Scheldeman.

First some views of the benches crammed with plants - a sight I can never get enough of... ;D
Then the 6 pans entry containing the Farrer medal winner ! (David Hoare)
Impressive prize winning 3 pan entries !

Great shots and not a duplication in sight :)

I have been enjoying another "walk" among the super plants at this show ...again I am struck by the feat achieved by David Hoare in both being the Show Secretary and managing to stage so many fine plants and win the Farrer Medal.... true dedication to the show from every direction, David!
I say again, Well Done !

Hi Maggi
Thank you for your good wishes, It is a job to enjoy the moment as there is so much to do after judging is compleated. We had Ger & Mariet Van Bauken staying over and we managed a small dram to celebrate.
I have just seen our old Kent Show Secretary and my mentor Eric Jarrett win the Farrer at Exeter. Well done Eric.
Saxifrage just about finished now, look forward to the Silvers flowering.
Best Wishes David
