It's listed in the RHS Plantfinder, from memory at a Nursery in Northern Ireland. Not that means they will have a plant avaiable.

Thank you Maggie for your warm welcome.
Thanks for the suggestion David. The RHS Plantfinder is our most used book. I have contacted Ballyrogan Nurseries in Ireland, a couple of times in the past few years. No luck there I'm afraid.

Hi, sorry to have been slow with this but busy with other things. We do have some Shortia gallacifolia for sale but would be best to wait for spring when plants will be growing March April. The cost for one plant is £10 plus postage which should not be expensive for one plant but would have to take to post office first, hope this is helpfull and we do have other Shortias. cheers Ian the Christie kind.

Brilliant Ian, thank you for your response. I have never seen the flowers, but love the foliage, having seen it at Cluny gardens on at least 2 occasions. Please reserve one for me for the spring! We have called into your excellent nursery several times whilst on 'Plant Hunting' expeditions in Scotland. (i.e shopping for unusual plants ). We already grow Shortia soldanelloides, this is a beauty and does well with us. Also Shortia uniflora kantoensis. Which other ones do you have? Kind regards.Luddite

Ian  - I just noticed the price! That's a great buy.  I bought two clumps 15 years ago and paid the equivalent of £50 each for them.  One clump was dead when hand-delivered so the nurseryman gave me another clump - which died shortly thereafter. On his way here through the USA he left them in his car with the windows rolled up in 30c weather.  Not so good for Shortia.
