Crinums feature in The Plantsman, part 4 December '08, that arrived this morning. Most issues I dont find very interesting but today is one of the good ones. When I first went to Belize and South Africa I was amazed by the Crinums in gardens and the wild. If only I had a digital camera back then. I actually got out of my car in Kruger to photograph Crinums and Haemanthus or Scadoxus

Well, yes, IF you have RHS membership.... and not all of us do!! I think most of us are pretty cautious these days about just how many Societies and Magazines or other periodicals we subscribe too.....I know with the rising price of some of my favoured purchases :o ::) ;) that I am more careful with my cash :-X

Yes but it also says RHS affiliates whatever whoever they are

There's a picture of Maggie planting Crinum bulbs here (BULB LOG 44 --- 31st October 2007):
I wonder what happened to them?
I remember this because I had bought some just before, mine arrived as dry bulbs and got planted in February 2008. The x powellii mostly flowered and the ellen bosanquet mostly didn't.

Well, David... I got leaves.....quite a lot of leaves.... hope they have enjoyed the feeding all those leaves provided them and that I may get a flower or two next year....... fingers crossed!

Interesting, they're reputed to take a year to settle down, what type are your Crinums?
