Last Friday there was in the same Show Hall, where the Weekly Flowershow in Lisse is held,
the yearly Perennial Show of CNB Greenteam, where producers can show their products
and/or novelties of perennials.
CNB Greenteam is a intermediaries agency for perennials in the Netherlands.
First some Astilbe of the relatively new Music Series and one older cultivar:
Astilbe Boogie Woogie
Astilbe Diamonds and Pearls
Astilbe Drum and Bass
Astilbe Rhythm and Beat
Astilbe Red Sentinel
-
Then some other plants not often seen:
Aconitum Cloudy
Agastache Summerglow
Hedychium densiflorum Assam Orange
Hedychium densiflorum Stephen
Ratibida columnifera
-
And finally some Echinacea where the range of colours since the last 10 years extemely
changed.
A great challenge for breeders seem to be the "double"forms.
Here I show one of the most recent cultivars.
The second picture shows how the flower starts to open and the last one
shows the final colour, which is dark orange.
Echinacea
Echinacea Hot Papaya 1
Echinacea Hot Papaya 2

Impressive perennials, a fireworks of colors, fiting to autumn and best placed in an open garden.

Luit,
Super show. Love the Hedychium and of course the Ratibida especially.

Luit,
Fantastic stuff - those astilbes look like fairy floss!
I especially like that Agastache "Summerglow".
Keep up the good work on letting us see all these wonders.
cheers

Thanks for the nice comments!
Fermi, I do what I can. Not difficult, because I love to see the development in plants.

I've not heard of Ratibida before, how tall does it grow please Luit

David, this plant was in a square 9 cm. pot and about 25 cm.
Therefore I presume it will become about 50 cm.
I never saw it before here too.
-
Thank you Luit.

David, Luit,
Saw the Ratibida in Erich Pasche's garden last Saturday - a height of more than 1 m.
Although it looks a little bit leggy it was a spectacular plant because of its outstanding flowers.

Although it looks a little bit leggy
That's why I hoped it was not higher than 50 cm. ;D
But I really did not know.
-
I've not heard of Ratibida before
Sometimes seen in seed packets for plants for children to grow ;D as 'The Mexican Hat Plant', now I wonder why :-\
-
Far too tall for my windy garden, thank you Gerd.
-
I'm pretty sure there were pics of a much larger, yellow Ratibida species among Kristl's postings. Maybe to about 1.8 metres?

I think this is the reference , Lesley...
