Before 15 years I visited the Zygana Pass in Turkey. In the autumn there are innumerable Colchicum speciosum in flower. I think it is of interest.

By the way, A curious scent can be noticed in this species.

Incredible - during 2 recent visits in spring I only saw numerous leaves of the species, now I have an idea how beautiful the colchicums look when flowering in autumn.

Thank you so much for these fine pics. I never thought, that C. speciosum can differ such a lot. I meant, the flower of C. speciosum ALBUM is typical for this species. You show u, it isn`t so.

Franz beautiful to see in flower.I was there almost 20 years ago in the spring and saw them in leaf and collected a couple. They have multiplied up and I now have dozens.
