reappeared in my garden and is in great shape with a dozen stems! is it Viola striata or Viola candensis?
The plant has an upright stem of 30 to 40 cm. I added a little organic matter to my garden last year and it's raining so much this year that it may be taller than usual.
thank you

Received as Viola dubyana, but is this a form of V. altaica or a hybrid of the latter?

The pansies (Melanium group) are a difficult matter. This is not dubyana because of the leaves which must be narrower and more devided. Viola altaica is similar but the flowers are mostly of more rounded shape - so a hybrid of the latter is possible
Sorry - I can't be of more help.

Many thanks Gerd.
Old story then: not what it said on the packet ;)
